I moved my dustyWRXSTI from the barn to the neighboring mountain cabin. It took two days. This is a record of the first day, from pulling it out of the barn. I hope it will be helpful to anyone who is stuck with a car that won’t start.
I’m just an amateur who loves this car, so please forgive me if there are any mistakes.
埃まみれのWRXSTIを納屋から隣の山小屋まで運びました。2日かかりました。今回は初日の納屋から引き出すまでの記録です。動かない車に困っている方の参考になれば幸いです。
私はこの車が好きなただの素人です。間違いがあるかもしれませんが、ご容赦ください。

My WRXSTI’s engine won’t start, and all four tires are flat.
The current barn is small and there’s no space,
so I’ve decided to move it to the mountain hut next door.
The job this time is to pull the old WRXSTI out of the small barn.
The body is covered in moss after being left abandoned for 14 years. It also appears to have had a leak, as there is one area that is badly rusted.
僕のWRXSTIはエンジンが始動せず、4つのタイヤすべてがパンクしています。
現在の納屋は狭く、スペースがありません。
なので、隣の山小屋に移動させることにしました。
今回の仕事は、古いWRXSTIを小さな納屋から引き出すことです。
14年間放置されていたため、車体は苔に覆われています。また、一部がひどく錆びており、雨漏りがあったようです。
All four tires on the WRXSTI were flat, and some tires had even come off the wheels.
WRXSTIの4つのタイヤすべてがパンクし、一部のタイヤはホイールから外れていました。
We decided to replace all four tires so that it would be easier to pull with a tow rope.
Studless tires for the WRXSTI I was using before had a slow puncture,
but they still seemed usable, so I filled them up with air and got ready.
牽引ロープで引っ張りやすくするために、タイヤ4本すべてを交換することにしました。
以前使っていたWRXSTIのスタッドレスタイヤはゆっくりパンクしてしまい、
しかし、まだ使えるようだったので、空気を入れて準備しました。
The barn was narrow and there were some places where the scissor jack installed in the car couldn’t fit.
I dug the ground underneath my WRXSTI and raised it so that I could fit a floor jack.
納屋は狭く、車に搭載されているシザージャッキが入らない場所もありました。
WRXSTIの下の地面を掘って、フロアジャッキが取り付けられるように車を上げました。
This is not a recommended method, and I did it very carefully and broke out in a cold sweat.
The weight of the car has caused the floor jack to sink into the ground!
これはあまり推奨される方法ではないので、私は非常に慎重に実行しましたが、冷や汗が出ました。
車の重さでフロアジャッキが地面に沈んでしまいました。
When I removed the tires, I found rusty brakes. I was worried about what was to come.
タイヤを外すと、ブレーキが錆びていました。これからどうなるのかと心配になりました。
Once all four tires have been changed, it’s time to pull the car out with a tow rope.
I chose a towing rope that was extendable and could handle up to 3 tons.
4つのタイヤをすべて交換したら、牽引ロープで車を引き出します。
伸縮式で3トンまで耐えられる牽引ロープを選びました。

I’ve gotten as much of the WRXSTI out as we can and today’s work is done.
It had been a while since I last worked on a car,
so it took longer than I expected and by the time it was already evening.
WRXSTIの部品をできる限り取り出して、今日の作業は終了です。
車をいじるのは久しぶりだった。
予想以上に時間がかかり、その頃にはすでに夕方になっていました。
Rain is forecast for this week. I’ll cover it with a blue tarp until next week’s work.
今週は雨の予報です。来週の作業までブルーシートをかけておこうと思います。
